Modelling of potential impacts of noise from or to a development can be undertaken to predict future noise impact scenarios, which are compared against the relevant noise limits. The main aim of a feasibility study is to objectively and rationally uncover the strengths and weaknesses of an existing or proposed development from a noise impact perspective. Noise feasibility studiesĪ noise feasibility study is an assessment of the practicality of a proposed development. A noise survey and report are required if the proposed development will be sensitive to noise, or will generate noise that is likely to affect existing receptors. Planning application, planning consent conditionsĪ noise survey and report may be required at the application stage or once planning permission has been granted. Noise monitoring is commonly completed to assess the influence of specific noise sources, such as transportation or industry, on residential noise sensitive receptors. Services we offer Baseline monitoringĪmbient and background noise monitoring can be necessary to defend the current noise criteria. We also look to support WELL Building Certification, GRESB and BREEAM in the built environment.
We can assess proposed developments against the NPPF, NPPG, NPSE, and ProPG Professional Practice Guidance on Planning & Noise. We can perform surveys for construction noise and vibration in line with BS 5228 1:2009+A1:2014, rating and assessment of industrial sound in line with BS4142:2014+A1:2019, and monitoring of road traffic noise in line with the methods in CRTN. Delta-Simons undertake and manage noise investigations and recommend appropriate mitigation measures for a wide variety of situations.
